Hello friend,
Welcome to your November edition of Continuum.
It's been an amazing month for us as Workspace Meditation continues making inroads into Sydney and Brisbane as we work with busy companies who recognise the benefits of taking care of their staff. If you don't think that consistent high performance and managing the ever increasing demands of work can be sustained when integrated with regular self-care education programs, then we would love to know what your secrets and strategies are. The simple truth is a wakeup call alerting management to the challenge and nature of flow in the workplace. Self-care education inspires the rightful place of our - mind, body and spirit connection and enables everyone to thrive in terms of work, family, love, relationships and success.
A sincere heartfelt thank you to all our readers who purchased from our on-line Store during the month of October to help those affected by the Asia Pacific Region tragedy. 100% of the proceeds were happily passed on to the Red Cross.
Earlier this month I was invited to the Blue Marble event hosted by Jon Yeo, an entrepreneur friend of my husband, to celebrate the arrival of the exquisite Gratitude Blue Earth Marble to Australia from America. Founded by Elizabeth Zachariah, the Blue Marble is about connecting people all over the world in a spirit of harmony and gratitude. It is a reminder of how small and precious the world really is, and how powerful gratitude can be if we all choose to stay connected. The Blue Marble is a focus and celebration of that fact.
I had the lovely honour of being the feature story in this month's The Intrinsic Way - the newsletter of an Australian company that creates inspiring greeting cards and stationary which aims to inspire people through stories about happiness, resilience and kindness in the world. A gracious thank you to Sarah Johnson for her wonderful storytelling skills and to the founder Adele Basheer for her magical artistry and talent; we love their intrinsic way of being in the world!
In keeping with the theme of gratitude, renowned dance pioneer Jo Cobbett will be returning to Australia with the Dance of Gratitude workshop. This is a wonderful opportunity for both absolute beginners and for those who love to move, to surrender to the transformational power of dance with an amazing teacher from Los Angeles. Our lively and engaging Public Training Courses and Workshops for 2010 are now posted on our website and will now be offered only on a seasonal basis, due to my increasing corporate training, writing committments, coaching and overseas personal development and training engagements. In making the appropriate adjustments that reflect the life cycle and life stage of our growing business, I also acknowledge the intriguing entry into my soon to be, 50th year on this beautiful planet and all that comes with the mystery of growing into our years. It feels timely to step back, breathe in the miracle of life and be truly grateful for what has come before us.
Since our recent nuptials, Alan and I have been playfully competing with each other to see how we can reframe situations that would otherwise, be viewed as negative. For example, on the day before we were to leave for Bali, Alan lost the keys to the house and car, the fact that our address details were with the keys immeditately flooded my nervous system with horror and disruption! In typical fashion, my husband remained cool and refused to buy into the drama, adding, "In the scheme of things, it's nothing," and proceeded to go to the locksmith to change the locks to the doors. After some time, having sat with the emotion of a potential disaster, I concluded with the locks changed, new keys cut and the car security system reconfigured, that this episode was another opportunity to give in and hand over any subjective reactions to our smiling creator. Handing it over is a necessary skill for living as it is with making bananna smoothies and lemon tarts. To that effect it was symbolic of our new beginnings into the eternal adventure of marriage. Of course, we laugh together in hindsight, reminding ourselves that -
"Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere."

And for that, we are eternally grateful. Keep breathing to be the change you live and, to help you love in all ways!

Rewire your Brain for Love
According to neuropsychologist Dr Marsha Lucas, it's possible to rewire our brain for lasting and successful relationships. We all have the internal technology to change our internal circuits. How? When you practice meditation, you boost your amperage for relationships. Your brain gets better at making sense of incoming emotional information without jumping to conclusions, reacting out of old habits, or getting stuck in emotional dead-ends like worry or grudges. It does the right stuff with that incoming information, helping you to wisely tell the difference between what's happening in the moment, and what's your "old stuff" pulling your strings like some predictable marionette.

Tiger Woods Integrates Meditation
His opponent stands off to one side gnawing his knuckles, knowing another defeat is just a few holes away. Credit meditation for Woods' extraordinary focus. An essential part of Tiger Woods' success is what he calls "staying in the present" and not letting his mind wander off to hoisting a trophy or depositing another million-dollar cheque.
While other golfers may live in the future, at the moment Woods plays his shots, he is apparently free of the conscious worry which plagues the weekend duffer. And he puts much of this down to meditation and the Eastern philosophy, mostly Buddhist, he learned from his Thai mother.
In addition to his early morning workouts and hours on the driving range, he also meditates daily.
