Hello friend,

Welcome to the July edition of Continuum

It has been an engaging month for Workspace Meditation presenting to, and servicing clients in Sydney and Adelaide. The joy in bringing people up to speed, on the benefits of meditation in the 21st century workspace, as we educate and train people in Active Workplace Wellness brings a sense of welcomed relief. Workplaces are chronically aroused environments and the implementation of wellness is entirely dependent on leaders who believe and want, the best possible choices for their people and organisation. Thank you so much to the people who continue to make a lot of noise, as they put the meaning of health back into Occupational Health and Safety.

After many requests, we are delighted to announce our next all day workshops: Awakening Sustainable Wellness - Give Your Attention To What Matters and Learn to Meditate for Self-Care. If you didn't know, for those of you who have done training with us in the form of courses, personal and group coaching, if you refer someone to us who completes a program you will receive a $50 credit towards the next program you book with us! Meditate '09 attracted a gathering of like minded, heart sharing souls. The highlight for me was the fearless wisdom of Petrea King; a woman of notable courage and truth. Gracious thanks to Paul, Garth, Matt and MC extraordinare, Kevin, for making it all possible.

Meditation is Selfish ...right?

Last year I returned to the USA to inspire my meditation training with my mentors and friends, Dr Lorin Roche and Camille Maurine. As a daily practice we would move to the instinctual power of our bodily rhythms and ride the power of our breath. It was utterly electric! One of the many songs we seriously moved to was 'You get what you give' by New Radicals. Now this song has been around since 1998, but it forced me to wake up to it's blasting chorus firing away in my brain.....

Interview: Look Who Meditates In The 21st Century
 
We present our second interview in our series:
 
Meditation is unrivalled. It's a creative, dynamic, powerhouse. It raises energy, reduces tension, it even helps us to respond appropriately and, is a welcome break from the world. Beyond that, it's a universal gateway into the cosmology of life, a time to reside in our hearts and let our spontaneous juices flow in the stream of consciousness - with love and life. We all meditate for different reasons.  
 
How and when we meditate, is a personal matter, indeed. We know what food we love to eat, the clothes we prefer to wear, or the music we love to listen to, right down to how we enjoy making love; our essential nature is always informing us.
 
Introducing 40-something Derek (not his real name) a senior police officer with the Victorian Police Force for 12 years.
 
Arian: How did you get started with meditation?
 
Derek: I had a violent father and my mum did everything she could to protect us. One of her main influences was to send my brother and I to the local footy club, we lived in Darwin. I was 19 at the time when I met my Tai Kwon Do teacher from the Philippines, he helped me get focused. He'd train the kids and players to strengthen and discipline their bodies and minds through meditation.

Over 3000 gather in front of White House to meditate for world peace 

The event - 'Take a Breathe' saw over 3,000 people meditate in Washington, D.C. as they spread the message of a stress free and violence free society for change and peace in any community. The event was initiated by The Art of Living Youth Leaders.
